Our belief is that people learn by doing. This is truer for innovation and creativity than for most aspects of business, in that the greatest barriers to turning really creative thinking into commercially viable propositions are self-imposed. Much of our training is about teaching the specific skills of, for example, empathic connections, creative visualisation or prototyping, against a background of instilling a belief that personal and organisational change is possible: moving from a ‘this can’t work’ attitude to a ‘how do we make this work?’ perspective.
We also believe that the doing in training should be practical, connected to reality and designed to motivate and inspire. So we ensure that our training maintains a connection with the real world – the day-to-day work and life experience of participants – and leads to outcomes which have real value. Whether it’s innovation training using actual customer insight as a stimulus to teach creative skills in developing a new product idea; using personal experiences of charitable giving to develop a new proposition for a charity; or using a training course on empathic understanding to develop a new cross business understanding and destroy silo thinking, we’re always looking for ways to be practical.
Knowledge is great. Experience is better. Creating value is unforgettable.
